What Is Nitrogen-Infused Coffee?

Nitro coffee is becoming increasingly popular due to its unique flavor and texture. However, it is important to note that this type of coffee can be more expensive than regular coffee.

The Benefits of Coffee Infused With Nitrogen

Out of all coffee drinks, nitro coffee is one of the healthiest choices. Not only is it creamier and smoother than regular coffee, but it’s also sweet on its own! In other words, you won’t need any sugar or other sweeteners. This beverage is also low on acidity, which makes it easy on the stomach. The only disadvantage is the cost, as this brew tends to be more expensive. Overall, nitro coffee is a healthy alternative to regular coffee and can be a great way to start your day.

The History of Nitro Coffee

Nitro coffee is a type of cold brew coffee that has been infused with nitrogen gas. The result is a coffee with a smooth, creamy texture and a slightly sweet flavor. Nitro coffee first became popular in the United States in the early 2010s, and it has since gained popularity around the world. The nitro brewing process was first developed by Guinness in 1959. But it wasn’t until the early 2010s that it would be used on coffee. Actually, nitro coffee and stout look very much alike.
There are a few different theories about how nitro coffee first became popular in the United States. One theory is that it was first served at the Cuvee Coffee craft coffee shop in Austin, Texas. Another theory is that it was first served in New York. Regardless of its origins, nitro coffee has become one of the most popular types of cold brew coffee.

How to Make Nitro Cold Brew at Home

Cold brew coffee is becoming more popular each year, and for good reason – it’s delicious! Nitro cold brew takes things to the next level, adding a creamy texture and slight sweetness that regular cold brew lacks. And the best part? You can make it at home with just a few simple ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:
  • 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee beans;
  • 4 cups of cold water;
  • a Nitro Brewer (or a regular coffee maker and a whipped cream dispenser);
  • nitrogen cartridges in case you don’t have a Nitro Brewer.
To make the nitro coffee, simply combine the beans and water in your Nitro Brewer (or coffee maker). Let it steep for 12-24 hours, then strain it through a coffee filter. Once the coffee is strained, transfer it to the Nitro Brewer’s keg (or a whipped cream dispenser) and seal it up. If you’re using a whipped cream dispenser, you need to charge it with cartridges before sealing up.
Now comes the fun part – making the nitro cold brew! Simply place the chamber in your fridge overnight, or for at least 8 hours. This will allow the nitrogen to infuse into the coffee. When you’re ready to drink it, simply dispense it into a glass and enjoy! Give it a try the next time you’re in the mood for something special!

How to Serve Nitro Cold Brew Coffee

Just like regular cold brew, nitro brew is served chilled, but with no ice. This allows the coffee to retain its full flavor and aroma, and the absence of ice ensures that the foam stays intact. When serving nitro cold brew, it’s important to pour it slowly into a glass, as pouring it too quickly can disrupt the foam. Once poured, the coffee should be left to settle for a minute or so before being consumed.
Of course, you can customize your nitro coffee. However, bear in mind that any sweeteners, or dairy will drastically change the flavor.
